PATCH Bamboo Bandages, the world’s first organic, hypoallergenic and compostable wound care solution has announced that it will be stocked in Woolworths supermarkets nationally from March 2019.
Recent consumer research (1) revealed one in two Australians believe that supermarkets are not doing enough to provide organic First Aid products, and over 85 per cent claim they would choose a natural alternative if they had the option. Luckily, there is a solution on the horizon and Woolworths are leading the charge by committing to support eco-innovation
On the partnership with Woolworths, PATCH Founder and CEO, James Dutton said,
“Woolworths has identified the importance of supporting products that push the ‘no plastic movement’ as well as having a minimal environmental impact. Consumers want products that are a better option for the health of the individual and the health of the planet”.
A product of sustainable company, Nutricare, PATCH Strips has reached a global market in just over 12 months and is currently available in over 31 countries throughout Europe, the US and parts of Asia.
Born out of personal experience, Mr Dutton, who is a father-of-two, quickly realised there was a gap in the market when his son had an adhesive reaction to a common plaster.
“What began as a need for my son, has now expanded to a worldwide venture. PATCH Strips is made from the most premium and sustainable ingredients to provide a hypoallergenic and biodegradable solution to wound care, including the natural goodness of activated charcoal, aloe vera and coconut oil embedded in the gauze,”
Mr Dutton said.
All PATCH Strips are made from organic bamboo fibre, are compostable and biodegradable. Consumers need to look no further than a time-lapse video created by PATCH which shows the breakdown of PATCH Strips into the soil in just 10 weeks, while other plastic and fabric plasters remain as pollution, harmful to the environment.
Recently, PATCH has been nominated in the Nexty Awards in the US for Best New Natural Living Product, highlighting innovative organic products that inspire and uphold industry integrity.
“PATCH Strips can now pave the way for a more sustainable product choice in the traditionally ‘wasteful’ wound care category. Winning these awards provides us with further motivation to push boundaries with natural wound care as we strive to create innovations that offer quality, organic and sustainable alternatives,”
Mr Dutton added.
PATCH Strips is now available in over 995 Woolworths stores Australia-wide located in the personal care/wound care area.
